  3. The Religious Studies Club of Oregon State University is an organization of student members and faculty mentors partnered in the academic study of religion. Wishing to move beyond perspectives that view the study of religion solely in terms of theology, we seek a greater exploration of religious, spiritual, and personal disciplines of religion as a social, cultural, and historical phenomenon. We hope to cultivate curiosity among ourselves and on the OSU campus generally by providing a space for philosophical inquiry, wonder, study and discussion. We endeavor to foster solidarity and respectful engagement among individuals of diverse religious and spiritual traditions. We shall delve into religion through the visitation of places of worship and spiritual grounds, religious dialogue, the utilization of local, national, and international speakers, and film screenings in addition to student and faculty-led panels. We do so in order to promote a spirit of inquiry on campus and to enact a social future free of hate in favor of empathy.
